Health and wellbeing has always been an important aspect of a long happy human life. Prioritising health and wellbeing is how we look after ourselves, and ensure our long-term survival. During a pandemic, survival relies on lockdown, but where we are isolating from others and have lost vital human connection it is important to carry on, whilst staying home, so that we can protect ourselves and those we love around us. However, this can have an impact on our mental wellbeing, and survival at this time includes looking out for our mental health, making sure that we have task, checklists and hobbies that we can do from home to keep ourselves from feeling lonely and depressed. This project looks into the impact lockdown has on each individuals’ mental health as well as showing the ‘reflections’ of our mental state and how we cope through it all by busying ourselves with hobbies and activities to pass away the time.
I have presented this project within an online exhibition along with a guided tour of the space. please feel free to take a look around as the images are accompanied with statements from each of the models talking about their own personal experience with lockdown, their mental health and which hobbies and activities are helping.
